Sigma Corporation announced the addition of Canon RF mount lenses to its mirrorless camera lens lineup. The announcement was made on April 23, 2024. All lenses will be developed and manufactured under a licensing agreement with Canon Inc.
New DC DN Lenses Optimized for RF Mount
The announced models include new DC DN lenses compatible with APS-C sensor sizes, now available for RF mount. These lenses feature a specially designed control algorithm to optimize autofocus (AF) drive and communication speed, achieving fast autofocus performance while integrating with continuous autofocus (AF-C), in-camera aberration correction, and image stabilization functions.
Enhanced Durability and Reliability
The mount features rubber sealing, allowing use in various environments such as rain and dust. This ensures users can focus on shooting even under harsh conditions.
The lenses to be added for RF mount are as follows:
- SIGMA 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary
- SIGMA 10-18mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary
- SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
- SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
- SIGMA 56mm F1.4 DC DN | Contemporary
Additionally, Tamron Co. also announced plans to develop interchangeable lenses for Canon RF mount, drawing attention.
