Hello, I go by the name "유필 (Yupil)" on social media. My real name is 최유진 (Choi Yoo-jin).

I take emotional photos that warmly capture everyday scenes with light. If I were to describe my work in one word, it would be "nostalgia."

For me, nostalgia isn’t something that is gradually shaped but rather something that suddenly comes to mind.
As we live, we pass by countless precious moments. However, because we live so busily, we don’t take the time to stop and look closely, and we temporarily forget them.

I focus on collecting those memories and bringing them back to life.

While visiting photo exhibitions in the past, I always had the thought, "Someday, I want to hold my own exhibition." I was deeply moved by the stories embedded in the works of other creators, and I felt the desire to convey my own words through photography.

This exhibition was a stepping stone for my growth and a valuable opportunity to connect with people who share the same passion, so I mustered up the courage to participate.

As it was my first time participating in an exhibition, my heart was filled with excitement. The time spent talking about photography, exchanging perspectives, and sharing moments was incredibly meaningful.

While looking at the exhibited photos with many visitors, I could sense various emotions in their expressions, which made me realize once again the power of photography.
In particular, interacting with creators who have different perspectives and unique personalities broadened my understanding of photography even further.

The photo I exhibited this time captures one of the happiest moments I’ve experienced recently.

On a clear, cloudless day, I photographed a bench in an old apartment complex while a pleasant breeze was blowing.
Looking at the empty bench, I imagined a loved one sitting there with me, and a smile naturally appeared on my face as I pressed the shutter.

I hope that those who view this photo will recall nostalgic faces in their hearts, whether it’s their parents, friends, a lover, or a childhood friend. That would bring me the greatest joy.

You don’t have to be perfect.
