Please introduce yourself!
Hello, I’m Mina Cho, a photographer based in Seoul.
I primarily use 135mm and 110mm format film cameras to create my works in an analog style. I value capturing the lively expressions of subjects in a still moment, naturally, as if in a scene from a film.
What inspired you to participate?
In May 2024 and February 2025, I held group photo exhibitions with different themes, which gave me opportunities to interact with domestic artists.
Through that process, I had time to deeply reflect on the worldview I wanted to express.
When I received the invitation from cizucu for this exhibition, I felt it was a great opportunity to not only connect with domestic creators but also with Japanese creators. I found it very meaningful and decided to participate without hesitation.

How was your experience participating?
Participating in the was a deeply meaningful experience, as I got to directly view and interact with the works of creators from both domestic and international backgrounds, each with unique perspectives.
Additionally, I was grateful for the opportunity to meet and talk with people who have always appreciated my photography.
On the day of the event, I also received warm feedback from people who saw my work for the first time, which was incredibly encouraging.
Why did you choose that particular piece?
Although it was a single-piece exhibition, I chose this work without hesitation.
It is the only piece where I projected myself onto the subject. It depicts a journey of temporarily stepping away from the role I was about to take on before my marriage and searching for a 'free self.'

In particular, I chose the scene where I expressed 'freedom' through the curves of a dress by the sea in Kamakura.
For those considering participating in the photo poster project
By simply submitting one photo, you can easily experience a poster exhibition, which makes the preparation burden light and appealing.
Through this exhibition, I was able to reflect on my journey as a photographer. The photo poster project offers a valuable opportunity to connect with a diverse range of creators from both domestic and international backgrounds.
