photo poster project | The Joy of Sharing Stories Through Photography, A Place Where Photos and People Connect by Filmmow | ISSUE #115

The has been held across Japan since late last year by cizucu. By simply submitting your photos to cizucu, you can participate in the photo poster exhibition and meet new photographer friends you’ve never encountered before.
This time, we had the opportunity to speak with Filmmow, a creator who participated in the .

Please introduce yourself!
Hello! We are Filmmow, a team managing an Instagram account where we post photographic works and also work as Canon Good Creators.
We operate as a “two-person team” consisting of a graphic designer and a photographer, dividing roles such as retouching, creating reels, shooting, and managing the account as a whole.
We focus on landscape and portrait photography while creating various visual content.
What inspired you to participate?
We learned about cizucu when we received an invitation to an exhibition via Instagram, and the idea of the intrigued us.
We also looked at the past exhibitions organized by cizucu and felt it would be a great opportunity as our first exhibition experience in our photography journey.
Additionally, we thought it would be a chance to meet various creators, share concerns, learn tips about photography and account management, and expand our creative expression by experiencing diverse styles of work. That’s why we decided to participate.

How was your experience participating?
Honestly, it was an experience beyond what I had imagined.
At first, I joined with a light-hearted mindset, thinking, “I’ll meet some people” and “It’ll be a good experience.” But when I arrived at the venue, I was surprised to see so many people, including creators and others, gathered there.
Thanks to the staff’s very polite and kind support and their efforts to encourage interaction among creators, I was able to talk to almost everyone at the venue.
During these conversations, we shared thoughts and insights about each other’s photography styles, discussed our challenges, and exchanged tips and tricks. It was a time where I learned so much.
Why did you choose that particular photo?
Choosing the photo for my first exhibition was a tough decision.
There were several candidates, but I ultimately chose this piece because it perfectly matched the seasonal theme of “summer,” in which the exhibition was held. It also aligned with our theme and direction of “capturing moments of people living in that season.”

Additionally, as I mentioned during the gallery talk, this photo also marked a turning point in how I viewed the season of “summer,” which I didn’t particularly like before. That’s another reason why I chose this piece.
A message to those considering joining the photo poster project
It’s not about how long you’ve been taking photos,
how skilled you are,
or how expensive your equipment is.
It’s about how much you love photography.
It’s about sharing and deeply discussing your photos with others.
Meeting various creators,
sharing concerns through dialogue,
and expressing your love for photography in front of many people.
If you’ve ever imagined such an opportunity, I encourage you to participate.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful experience. I will continue capturing the moments I love.
