The photo poster project is an exhibition hosted by cizucu and held worldwide. By simply submitting your photos to cizucu, you can participate in the exhibition and meet new photographer friends you’ve never encountered before.

The photo poster project is operated with the help of volunteer staff from around the globe. Each staff member, with their diverse backgrounds, brings their unique perspective to create this space. This time, we spoke with Sui, a creator who is part of the staff team.

Please introduce yourself!

I work in the medical field. On my days off, I often travel and enjoy spending time outdoors, experiencing the scenery and atmosphere of different places. I value the small discoveries and encounters in everyday life.

I first participated in the photo poster project in Tokyo in February 2025, and I am now working as a staff member.

What was your impression when you first participated as an attendee?

I was very nervous when I first attended the event.
Being naturally shy, I had mostly interacted with a limited group of people, such as friends from my school days. Participating in the photo poster project was a bit of a courageous challenge for me.

However, on the day of the event, other participants kindly approached me, and I was able to interact with many people, which made me feel at ease. Receiving feedback on my photos from others’ perspectives was refreshing, and I felt that it was a warm and positive space.

What do you think is the unique charm of the photo poster project as a staff member?

The greatest charm is being able to meet the photographers in person and hear their stories.
While being involved in the photo poster project, I’ve experienced moments where my perspective on photography changes. Learning the stories behind each photo has made me imagine the thoughts and processes behind the photos I see on social media and elsewhere.

As a staff member, what do you personally value most?

I value “trying to understand the person in front of me.” Although I am shy, I make an effort to initiate conversations and listen attentively to others.

Above all, I also prioritize “enjoying the moment myself.”

What has been the most memorable experience so far?

Making new friends through photography has been the most memorable experience. Talking about our shared hobby of photography and sharing our thoughts and techniques was truly enjoyable, and I felt glad to have participated.

What is the most rewarding aspect of supporting the photo poster project?

The most rewarding moment is when participants tell me, “I had fun” or “I want to come again.” I strive to create a space where everyone can feel safe and enjoy themselves, so seeing participants leave with smiles makes me genuinely happy.
