Please introduce yourself!

My name is written as 写施練 and pronounced 'Utsuseren.' It’s an alias. For context, 'Utsuse' is the surname, and 'Ren' is the given name.

I often visit botanical gardens to photograph flowers, but I also enjoy capturing landscapes during my travels. I’m very curious and have a strong desire to try photographing a variety of subjects.

What inspired you to participate?

I’ve always been interested in photo exhibitions, but I never knew when, where, or how to participate in such events. As a result, I had never joined one before.

When I learned about the , I researched it and felt it was very accessible and easy to join, so I decided to participate.

Have you experienced any changes after participating multiple times?

I’ve connected with more people who love cameras and photography, and my Instagram posting frequency has skyrocketed.
In 2024, I was quite lazy and posted fewer than 20 times throughout the year. However, after joining the , I’ve posted nearly 50 times in just one month.

Knowing that many people are viewing my work really boosts my motivation.

What do you find appealing about the photo poster project?

I think the most appealing aspect is being able to directly communicate with other photographers.
In this era of massive social media, we can view countless photos from various people, but the opportunities to meet and talk in person are extremely limited.

It’s incredibly enjoyable to have conversations—whether they’re related to photography or not—with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Additionally, the low barrier to entry and the ease of participation make it very appealing.

A message to those considering joining the photo poster project

It’s truly easy and casual to participate, so I hope many people can experience the atmosphere of this poster exhibition.
The participants are all kind, and the environment is always very friendly, so even someone as shy as me was able to quickly feel at ease.

When you participate multiple times, you’ll not only meet new people but also reconnect with familiar faces. Events like this can be nerve-wracking, but seeing familiar faces can be very comforting. I encourage you to join multiple times and become one of those familiar faces—I’ll be one too.
