Please introduce yourself!

Hello, I’m Suzuki Kousuke. I’ve been using a DSLR camera since elementary school, but I became deeply passionate about photography after joining the photography club in university.

I usually focus on snapping candid moments in the city, capturing subtle gestures of people, and the interplay of light and shadow. I value photographs that evoke the atmosphere and emotions of the moment.

What motivated you to participate?

I decided to participate because I wanted to encounter new perspectives through photography and grow as an individual. While I usually interact with peers of the same age, I wanted to broaden the age range and gain inspiration from diverse viewpoints.

By connecting with photographers from different generations and backgrounds, I aimed to expand my horizons and deepen my photographic expression, which led me to join this project.

How was your experience participating?

The first thing I noticed was the warm atmosphere that filled the venue.
Even though the genres and styles varied, everyone was connected by their love for photography. It was a space where people could freely share their passions, regardless of age or background.

While it was rewarding to display my photos and see them turned into posters, what stood out the most was the unique sense of fulfillment that could only be experienced in that space.
In particular, the “gallery talks,” where participants shared their thoughts about their works, deepened mutual understanding and satisfaction among everyone involved.

Why did you choose that one photo?

When you hear the theme “love,” what comes to mind? For me, the first thing I thought of was my girlfriend. While searching for a photo related to her, I stumbled upon this one.

This photo was taken in a moment when she pulled my hand, and I instinctively pressed the shutter without looking. It wasn’t a planned shot, but it feels like the emotion of “love” compelled me to capture it.

Holding hands symbolizes “love,” and the slightly blurred depiction gives the impression of capturing a memory rather than a photograph, leaving a warm and nostalgic aftertaste.
