Fujifilm Corporation has announced the release of a new interchangeable lens for the X Series, the 'Fujinon Lens XF23mmF2.8 R WR,' scheduled for December 2025. This lens will also be available as a kit lens with the latest X Series model, the 'FUJIFILM X-E5,' for early sale in August 2025.
Despite its extremely compact design of 23mm in length and weighing only 90g, it offers high image quality compatible with a 40.2-megapixel sensor, making it suitable for a wide range of photography, from snapshots and landscapes to tabletop photography.
Compact Design and High Resolution
The 'XF23mmF2.8 R WR' features a construction of 8 elements in 6 groups, including 2 aspherical lenses, effectively suppressing aberrations across the entire image plane. Thanks to the latest thin-lens processing technology, it achieves a length of 23mm and a weight of 90g, making it one of the smallest and lightest X-mount lenses.
While comparable in size to the XF27mmF2.8 R WR, it makes no compromises in resolution performance. With a focal length equivalent to 35mm in the 35mm format, it offers natural perspective and high versatility.
Fast Autofocus and Excellent Close-Up Performance
The focus mechanism adopts an all-group extension system, with a minimum focusing distance of 20cm. This allows for sharp capture of subjects in tabletop or small object photography. The use of a DC motor ensures fast and quiet autofocus. It pairs exceptionally well with the high-resolution sensors of the X Series, enabling you to capture everyday moments without missing a beat.

The exterior features metal components, with anti-slip processing on the mount side to enhance usability during operation and lens changes.
