Blackmagic Design has announced the next-generation video editing software 'DaVinci Resolve 20' ahead of the global video production event 'NAB 2025'.

This major update, featuring over 100 new functions, enhances automatic editing support using AI, and improves operability across all production processes, including audio editing, color grading, and 3D compositing.

AI Revolutionizes Editing Workflow

The highlight is the innovative suite of tools utilizing AI technology, such as 'AI IntelliScript', 'AI Audio Assistant', and 'AI Multicam SmartSwitch'. Notably, IntelliScript automatically generates timelines based on text scripts, significantly reducing preparation time for editing. AI Audio Assistant automatically adjusts multiple tracks to complete a professional-level audio mix with a single click.

Additionally, AI expands the possibilities of production on both video and audio fronts with features like 'AI Detect Music Beats', which automatically detects music beats, and 'AI Set Extender', which extends video through text input.

Enhanced Support for Vertical Videos and Cloud Integration

In response to the growing demand for vertical videos for smartphones, a feature that automatically optimizes the UI layout when opening vertical video projects has been added.

Furthermore, integration with Blackmagic Cloud has been strengthened, allowing for cloud folder sharing and presentation sharing with non-account users. This facilitates smooth collaboration with remote clients and teams.

Professional Evolution of Color and Audio Editing Features

In color grading, the new 'Chroma Warp' has been added, enabling intuitive color manipulation. It allows for easy saturation and hue correction of specific areas, catering to productions requiring more detailed expressiveness. Additionally, Fairlight has added audio matching features like 'EQ Match' and 'Level Matcher', allowing for the unification of tone and volume of audio recorded in different environments.
