This time, we spoke with Hal, a creator who participated in the photo poster project.
Please introduce yourself!
My name is Hal, based in Saitama Prefecture.
I focus on capturing fleeting moments of beauty and tranquility found in everyday life—whether in the city, among people, or in nature. I shoot with a Ricoh GR III.
What inspired you to participate?
I was first approached by a member of the cizucu team, which led me to download the app and start engaging with the platform. Through this, I learned that the photo poster project would be held in Tokyo, and I decided to take the plunge and participate.
Although I had been sharing my photography on Instagram for over ten years, I began to feel a sense of stagnation and wanted to try something new. That was my motivation for joining.
Have you experienced any changes through your repeated participation?
My network has expanded! I’ve been able to connect with creators who shoot in different genres and from different perspectives, and I’ve started visiting exhibitions of people I met through the photo poster project.
Additionally, someone who came to see another participant’s work turned out to be a follower of mine on Instagram. We became friends and started going out to shoot together. I was also invited to join a group exhibition, and recently, I participated in a photography exhibition outside of cizucu for the first time.
What do you find appealing about the photo poster project?
The appeal lies in having my work viewed thoughtfully, not just in passing. People notice the subtle details and offer warm words, which has helped resolve some of my uncertainties about my photography and made me even more excited about future photographic endeavors.
I also enjoy hearing about other participants’ thoughts and creative approaches to their photography, and taking the time to really look at everyone’s work is inspiring! I always find it stimulating and informative.

This is a place where people can connect through photography. You might feel nervous about speaking in public or lack confidence in your own work, but as long as you have a passion for photography, that’s enough!
