‘Find Red’ is a global online photography contest presented by cizucu, open to all creators registered on cizucu. Outstanding submissions will be curated, with the aim of discovering new talent through the platform and supporting the community.
This edition’s theme is Red.
How do you perceive the ‘color’ that your subject embodies?
Each of us may be drawn to certain colors for reasons we can’t quite explain.
Among the many colors, red possesses a unique gravitational pull. It commands attention with its striking intensity, yet can also slip quietly into everyday moments, radiating a warmth reminiscent of body heat.
Red can be the protagonist, boldly standing out, or it can be a subtle accent, like a hidden spice. Show us the energy you infuse into this color, and the new ‘expressions of red’ you discover through your lens.
Passion, stillness, or perhaps a sense of dissonance—share with us a photograph that captures your unique perspective.

Snow Torii

This photograph captures the vivid red of a torii gate amidst a snowy landscape. The striking contrast between the accumulating white snow and the red of the torii creates a solemn and vibrant atmosphere. The low-angle perspective, looking up as sunlight streams in, further enhances the sense of sanctity, perfectly complementing the subject. The traditional red that blends into the Japanese landscape is accentuated even more when juxtaposed with the natural whites and greens, amplifying its presence.

This urban scene captures a person holding a vivid red umbrella. In the cityscape, the striking red umbrella clearly designates its bearer as the protagonist of the story. By introducing a single point of ‘heat’—the color red—into a scene that otherwise evokes coldness from rain or snow, an ordinary street corner is transformed into something cinematic and dramatic. Adding a red accent as a focal point can dramatically alter the mood of your work.

This image captures a cluster of red spider lilies. Amidst a field awash in red, the delicate form of a single blossom is highlighted. Even within the same ‘red’, variations in lighting and depth of field can create a rich sense of layering. By moving in close to the subject, not only the intensity of the color but also its texture and fine lines become apparent. Boldly layering reds upon reds may be the key to capturing the hidden, mystical moments of everyday life.

This photograph captures a traffic signal illuminating a snowy night. Each snowflake, tinged red by the light, demonstrates how color can transform the very atmosphere of its surroundings. Familiar everyday scenes can become dreamlike expressions when filtered through weather or time of day. By being mindful of the ‘red of light’ as it reflects and transmits, you can greatly expand your expressive range.
