Hello, my name is Fuwasuke.
I love taking landscape photos, capturing casual moments during my commute or on my days off.
The initial trigger for my photography journey was getting a smartphone. As I browsed others’ posts on social media, I became interested in trying long-exposure photography with a camera, which led me to purchase a mirrorless camera. This purchase marked the beginning of my serious photography activities, bringing me to where I am today.
What motivated you to participate?
Until now, I would only visit photo exhibitions nearby if my schedule allowed. I never even considered exhibiting my own photos.
When I attended exhibitions, I went with the hope of gaining inspiration to apply to my photography. However, there were many times when I couldn’t fully grasp the thoughts or intentions behind the exhibitors’ works.
That’s why I decided to participate in the , where I could meet and interact with creators. I wanted to hear their thoughts and intentions behind their works!
How was your experience participating?
Being able to hear creators’ perspectives on their works was invaluable. Interacting with people who shoot with unique compositions and approaches I wouldn’t have thought of was an inspiring and enjoyable experience!
Additionally, I met people knowledgeable about equipment, and we discussed camera features I wasn’t aware of, which was incredibly educational and a great experience.
Through the , I realized the immense value of connecting with creators and learning from them. If I get the chance, I’d love to participate again!
Why did you choose this particular photo?
The theme this time was ‘Kindness,’ so I chose a piece where the gentle light of lanterns illuminates a dark nightscape.
When I take nightscape photos, I often use long exposure to capture light trails. However, for this piece, I wanted to softly depict the light, so I used a shorter exposure and a higher ISO setting to achieve the desired effect.
Since the displays works in A2 poster size, I was also curious to see how the higher ISO setting would appear in the final print, which is why I chose this piece.
