Capturing what catches your eye as you walk through the city is an instinctive act. Although we may not always be conscious of it, our daily lives are surrounded by countless beautiful patterns.
This is the second installment of the Find series. The first edition featured a contest to discover typography in the urban landscape.
The mission for this edition of the Find series is to seek out patterns in the city.
For example, cracks in asphalt, wire fences, or peeling walls—elements we might usually overlook—can be reinterpreted as patterns, revealing a new facet of the urban environment.
Take this opportunity to observe your city with fresh eyes and discover its hidden patterns. We look forward to your submissions!

Patterns found in architecture can sometimes evoke a sense of longing for nature. The motif on this building, for example, resembles the stomata of a leaf as it breathes.

Alternatively, you may encounter patterns created by nature itself within the city. The ripples on a puddle, for instance, interfere with each other to form unique, one-of-a-kind motifs.

You may also discover more artificial patterns in the city. For example, a metal arrow embedded in the pavement. Few people probably know what this arrow signifies.

With a broader perspective, you may notice beautiful patterns born from the interplay between humanity and nature. The wake of a ship slicing through the sea, for example, travels all the way to distant lands.
We hope this has inspired you. By observing the patterns hidden throughout the city, you may discover a new side to your surroundings. Let this contest be your invitation to seek out urban patterns. We look forward to your submissions!
