The Poise of a Swan Alighting in Nagaokakyo

Within the grounds of Kinsuitei, a restaurant in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto Prefecture, renowned for its bamboo cuisine, there is a swan. Watching the swan gracefully swim among the autumn foliage was a truly beautiful sight. I blurred the foreground leaves to focus on the swan—a technique easily achieved even with a smartphone.

My work focuses on the beauty, tradition and simplicity found everywhere around Kyoto. My goal is only to enjoy presenting Kyoto as I see it on a daily basis. I like the idea of light emanating from darkness and that is why I like to use light and shadow to create emotion.

Hakuryuen, a hidden autumn foliage spot in Kyoto, is a garden that spreads across the foot of Anyoji Mountain. The balance of my favorite colors—red, blue, and green—is just right here.

After completing the Nippon TV Academy Variety Writer Course, I apprenticed under scriptwriter Ryo Kawasaki. Based in Tokyo, I have worked on TV programs, commercials, web videos, and travel projects. The shift to remote work during the pandemic inspired me to try living in Kyoto, a city I had long been interested in. I relocated to Kyoto in May 2021 and now explore the city daily, sharing its charms on social media.
