When driving, our gaze naturally shifts to the scenery outside. Sunlight pours through gaps in the clouds, illuminating the earth below. This is a rare shot that captures a miraculous scene, visible only when luck and timing align.

Clouds spread out like an endless sea, mountain slopes peek through the gaps, the sun announces the start of a new day to the world, and people gather to witness it all. This photograph captures a new face of the sky, one that can only be seen by making the journey to the Takeda Castle Ruins.

This work captures a fleeting moment of beauty and emotion presented by nature. The clouds are thin, and there are no buildings in sight. It’s a piece that sparks the imagination about where and from what angle it was photographed.

This image captures a dreamlike scene where the setting sun, about to sink beyond the sea, contrasts with the starry sky in a single frame. The title ‘The Sky is Connected’ and the two figures gazing into the distance evoke a sense of emotion, making one think of friends striving far away. This work, which beautifully embodies the contest’s theme, has been selected as the awarded work.
We hope you enjoyed this feature. Each work captures the infinite expressions of the boundless sky, reminding us that we all share the same sky. This contest deepened our awe and admiration for nature, while also reaffirming the unique appeal of photography in capturing one’s own perspective. We plan to hold more contests themed around nature in the future. Stay tuned for the next one!
