'Stand by Me' is a global online photo contest organized by cizucu, open to all creators registered on cizucu. Outstanding submissions will be curated from the entries, aiming to discover new talent as a platform and support the community as a whole.
The theme for this edition, 'The Reason to Keep Photographing', is as diverse as the creators themselves. For some, the joy of expression is the driving force; for others, it is the communication born through photography.
At cizucu, under the vision of 'Inspire Your Photo Creativity,' we strive to stand alongside creators, spark inspiration, and continually be the reason you love photography. We hope to listen closely to each unique motivation, support you, and channel these insights into the growth of our service.
Please include your reason for continuing photography in the caption, and for your submission, select a photograph that holds meaning in your photographic journey—whether it is an image that became your reason to keep photographing or one that made you discover the joy of photography. We encourage you to submit your most special work to the contest. Furthermore, we are honored to welcome Makoto Hashimuki, who has spent over a decade photographing Mt. Fuji and sharing its allure both in Japan and internationally, as curator for this edition.
This contest is a testament to our commitment to support every creator involved with cizucu. The theme may be a challenging one, but we look forward to hearing your voices!
Makoto Hashimuki / 橋向真
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture in 1977. Inspired by Mt. Fuji's designation as a World Heritage Site, he began using social media as a new tool of the era to share the beauty of Mt. Fuji with the world. In 2021, a massive lenticular cloud over Mt. Fuji garnered widespread attention, leading to features in international media and Japanese TV programs (including 'Zawatsuku! Friday'). In 2021, he held a solo exhibition in Florence, Italy. In 2022, he presented a solo exhibition at Canon Gallery Ginza. In October 2023, he is scheduled to hold a photo exhibition at Sunpu Museum. His publications include 'Shinki' (Impress Publishing), as well as 'Shin Fuji Sankei,' 'Tonikaku Sugoi Fuji-san,' 'The Four Seasons of Mt. Fuji,' and 'JTB Beautiful Mt. Fuji.' He also releases calendars annually.

(1) Thematic Relevance: Does the work align with the stated mission?
(2) Subject Focus: Is the photographer's intent clearly conveyed within the image?
(3) Expressiveness: Does the work demonstrate expressive qualities such as perspective, composition, balance, focus, and color?
(4) Timing: Has the photographer captured the decisive moment or timing of the subject?
(5) Originality: Does the work show unique creativity in location, subject, or approach?
