Welcome to the world of railways, where the resounding roar of gleaming steel wheels echoes. The powerful forms and intricate details of trains, harmonizing with both nature and urban landscapes, may be considered among the most beautiful achievements of human civilization. Railways have carried people, goods, and even cultures, embracing joyful encounters and poignant farewells alike, traversing a history of 150 years. For this contest, we invite photographic submissions capturing the essence of railways. Through images that reveal the inherent allure of trains or the stories and dramas unfolding around them, we aim to rediscover the captivating presence of railways—often described as the lifeblood of Japan.
