This model is a color variation of the LIGHT LENS LAB M 35mm f/2, originally released in June 2021. Nicknamed “Zhou Hachimai” after Mr. Zhou, the founder and investor of LIGHT LENS LAB, it has garnered significant attention. 50% of the sales will be donated to Ishikawa Prefecture as relief funds for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

This lens faithfully reproduces the optical performance of the first-generation Leica M mount “Summicron 35mm f/2,” originally introduced in 1958 and renowned as the ‘8-element’ lens. Using materials closely matched to the original, the design meticulously recreates the original’s coating, barrel design, and the method for fixing the focus ring at infinity. Differences from the original include the use of a brass lens barrel and a ruby for the lens mounting index.
