Panasonic Corporation has announced the LUMIX S 100mm F2.8 MACRO, a medium telephoto prime macro lens for the L-Mount series. The lens will be released on February 15, 2024, with a retail price of 134,200 yen (tax included).

The S Series lenses are designed to be compact and lightweight to complement camera bodies, offering a lineup that delivers a professional imaging experience with ease.

This newly announced lens features an innovative optical design and a newly developed dual-phase linear motor, establishing itself as the world’s smallest and lightest medium telephoto prime macro lens. Weighing only approximately 298g, it excels in mobility, especially for outdoor photography. The lens offers high resolution and expressive rendering, with the beautiful bokeh characteristic of macro lenses, enabling images with a strong sense of depth.
Additionally, it delivers fast and precise autofocus with quiet AF operation, making it ideal not only for close-up photography at the 100mm focal length but also for portraiture and street photography that take advantage of its bright aperture.
