The Diary series is a photography contest where you share photos from your daily life along with the events of that day, much like a personal diary.
A diary is a valuable way to record your life and experiences. Looking back can help you see your growth and changes more objectively, and may even lead to new insights. As you sort through your everyday thoughts and feelings, we invite you to add your own story.
This edition’s theme is November Diary.
Some days are worth remembering even when there is nothing written on the calendar. The day you shared a meal with a friend. The day you put on a coat that had been tucked away. The day the lights on your way home looked more beautiful than usual. Why not preserve a day like that through photos and words?
Some people decorate with flowers, light candles, and gather around a table with a crowd, while others simply make dinner as usual. Even on the same date, what catches the eye and what stays in the heart is different for everyone.
Whether you’re in a lively square or the quiet of your own home, tell the story of a November moment you found wherever you spent your day.

Where are we going, and what are we waiting for? An ordinary moment with a little companion becomes an irreplaceable part of the journey.

A little companion looks back at us through the car window. Half-finished drinks sit around the pale green interior, leaving the everyday traces of life on the road. Some days, what stays with you isn’t how far you travelled, but the moment your eyes met and you smiled. As November has us counting down the rest of the year, perhaps it’s an ordinary pause like this that helps us stop rushing ahead.

Layers of red and yellow lanterns glow against the deep blue night. A lone figure crossing in front of them brings a sense of everyday life to the bright city scene. In Taiwan, November’s cooler evening breeze may naturally slow your pace as you walk the streets with a camera. The photo captures that feeling of being caught between not wanting the night to end and wanting to head home to somewhere warm and bright.

Turquoise water, white surf, and a black beach meet in vivid bands. Along the shoreline, people dip their feet into the water, huddle together, and wait for the waves. Paired with the words “A beach in Italia in november,” the white foam covering the sand begins to look almost like snow. The summer-like figures and the hint of loneliness in the colour of the sea come together to suggest the season shifting from autumn into winter.

While bicycles move through the street, this poised figure seems to occupy a pocket where time slows down. The title, “The Lady,” adds a touch of elegant humour to that brief stillness. As the days grow shorter in November, you may find yourself stopping at a street corner you had meant to pass by. Perhaps a small detour like this is enough to make you look back on the day.

Hot-air balloons dot a pale pink sky. Below them are traffic lights, power lines, rows of cars, and people seen from behind. An unfamiliar sky opening up beyond a familiar road makes this feel like a special moment waiting right beside everyday life. November is a time to look back on the year while beginning to think about the next. Even so, part of you wants to linger a little longer in the view ahead. The desire to move forward and the reluctance to leave the present quietly come together in this photo.
