Someone in Frame is a global online photo contest hosted by cizucu and open to all creators registered on cizucu. We select outstanding entries with the aim of discovering new talent through the platform and supporting photographers as a community.
This edition’s theme is “A Landscape with Someone in It.”
A moment spent walking side by side with someone on an ordinary journey home.
The figure of a person whose name you do not even know, who happened to enter the frame while you were traveling.
A scene that brings back memories of time spent with someone important, even when they do not appear in the image.
The presence of someone in a landscape—or simply the feeling that someone has been there—can give a place a distinctive character and warmth. Perhaps it is because it invites us to imagine the stories that unfold before and after the photograph was taken.
Through photography, we invite you to share the landscapes that have stayed with you.

It’s an everyday scene that somehow feels familiar, but the beaming smile crossing the frame immediately warms the heart. The missed focus conveys just how badly the photographer wanted to capture this moment. It also hints at the atmosphere and the close relationship between the photographer and the person in the frame. A familiar view becomes irreplaceable when someone dear appears in it. Bright, joyful, and full of affection, this is a lovely photo.

A back alley lined with restaurants at night. No one appears in the frame, yet the signs, lanterns, graffiti, and parked motorcycle make the presence of the people who live and work here unmistakable. There’s a sense that people will begin to gather as the night goes on, along with the lingering feeling that someone was here just moments ago. It sparks the imagination, capturing the warmth of the city within the stillness and a quiet sense of nostalgia.

With the city in focus and the person crossing the foreground blurred, the presence of someone who lives there stands out all the more, drawing us naturally into the scene. The caption, “I see a rabbit and u?”, also shows the photographer’s playful eye and rich imagination. This is a photo that could only have come together because someone was there.

This view of a summer beach from above immediately catches the eye. The contrast between the clear blue sea and brilliant white sand is striking, but it’s the countless people in the frame that make the scene one of a kind. Each person seems to be writing their own story across a vast canvas. Their presence brings out even more of the landscape’s appeal.

Three spotlight-like beams and a solitary silhouette emerge from the darkness. Because we see only a shadow, we begin to wonder who this person is and what might be on their mind. The less we can see of them, the more powerfully their presence is felt. The contrast between light and shadow makes the photo both dramatic and mysterious.
