The instant a runner’s feet leave the ground, the moment a curtain billows in the wind, the split second a bicycle wheel catches the light.
Within the movements of everyday life are scenes that, for a fleeting moment, seem to bring time to a standstill.

A photograph captures only an instant, yet motion continues before and after it. The direction a foot is traveling, a bird’s posture before taking flight, the form of fabric rippling in the wind. The space left for imagining what lies beyond the frame imbues a single photograph with movement and narrative.

With this in mind, we are launching a hashtag campaign under #pause!

#pause is not simply about freezing a subject in place.
Runners, bicycles, birds, billowing curtains, and people moving through the city—look for the brief stillness that emerges within motion and the traces of movement that linger before and after it.

The moment evening light traces the outline of a figure, the instant a wheel reflects a flash of light, the second the wind sends a curtain billowing outward. By attending to the light and shadow in the background, reflections, and negative space, you can preserve a sense of passing time within a still image.

There are no restrictions on genre—landscapes, street photography, portraits, sports, or photographs from your travels are all welcome.
