In 'Read Your Photography,' we focus on the stories behind photographs—narratives that cannot be encountered by simply looking. The city of Seoul, shaped by densely packed concrete apartment blocks and the hustle and bustle of daily life, is the stage for my earliest memories. Naturally, the place where my family had the most conversations was inside the car.
Looking out the window, I would see an endless sky, and that fleeting moment of stillness left a small space in my heart amid the city's noise.

This rhythm of life was formed during the rapid economic growth of the 1960s and 70s. At that time, the city's expansion brought with it the construction of much infrastructure, including many bridges.
This photograph is an attempt to retrace those sensations. The repetitive concrete structures evoke memories of that era, while the scenery fading into the distance leaves the destination ambiguous.

It overlaps with the way people in my memories lived—always in pursuit of success, yet unsure of what awaited them beyond.

The perspective of bridge piers receding into the distance quietly guides both the gaze and the mind. The coldness of the blue structures and the gentle ripple of the water coexist, creating an unexpected warmth in what should be a hard-edged scene. The softly diffused light feels less like a 'terminus' and more like an open space, inviting the viewer to imagine what lies ahead. This photograph elegantly captures the poetic sensibility hidden on the reverse side of the city.

The seashore bathed in sunset was a place where, despite the crowds, each person's time flowed quietly.
This photograph captures a moment I encountered by chance on the beach in Bali, Indonesia. The children playing in the sand were an ordinary sight, yet within that scene, unadorned emotions and natural moments flowed. I was drawn to that atmosphere and pressed the shutter.

During my solo travels across ten countries, I realized that it is not the special places but the everyday moments of people I meet that remain in my memory. Perhaps it is precisely because the environment is unfamiliar that people reveal more natural expressions.
I want to use photography not just to document beautiful landscapes, but to preserve as stories those spontaneous moments and emotions that emerge in daily life.

This work beautifully frames the sunset beach not as a bustling tourist spot, but as a space where each person has their own rhythm. The children at play and the presence of adults coexist within the same frame without interfering, maintaining a gentle tempo. This photograph was taken on an ordinary evening.
I didn't have anything in particular I wanted to shoot that day; I was simply walking through the city with my camera. The air after the rain was slightly humid, and the sky was somewhat gray. At the time, I felt like I couldn't organize my thoughts, and my mood was a bit low.

As I looked down at the empty intersection from above, a lone figure suddenly entered the frame. I wasn't waiting for this person, nor did I know them. But the moment I saw their back, I felt, "Perhaps everyone, somewhere, crosses their own path alone."

It was a fleeting moment, but the quiet solitude and fatigue somehow overlapped with my own feelings.

The act of taking photographs may seem like capturing someone else, but perhaps it is actually a way of reflecting the unspeakable parts of oneself.

The power of that "unexpectedly encountered moment"—when a single person steps into an empty intersection—draws the viewer in. The humidity after the rain and the contours of a subdued heart are captured without excessive dramatization, which is beautiful. It was a clear day, around 4 p.m., as dusk approached.
While walking along Sanxia Old Street, I saw an elderly man with white hair heading toward a toy shop. Before entering, he paused and gazed up at the sign, lost in thought.

Perhaps, in that moment, he was reflecting on the long journey he had walked so far.
Memories of joyful childhood days, moments of clashing emotions over trivial matters, times when someone's words clouded his heart. Yet, as time passes, such experiences are gradually accepted, and life becomes quieter and freer.

Before I knew it, all those memories had become the past. I realized that time is both the terminus of memories and the beginning of new ones.

Stopping to look up at a sign—this simple gesture reveals the weight of a long life. The afternoon light is gentle, yet time feels dense, accentuating the silence of the figure. The landscape felt as if I were walking on another planet. The wind and snow blurred the outlines of the small red house that would normally be clearly visible, making it look as if I had failed an eye exam.

In a way, it feels similar to life. Reality rarely goes as planned.
But perhaps it is precisely these unexpected events that become our unique experiences and surprises.

This photograph feels especially significant to me. Amid the desolate, snow-covered land, the faint presence of houses appeared almost like a beacon of hope.

For those who continue their journeys, perhaps these kinds of landscapes are the ones they have always longed for somewhere in their hearts.
