A door is a threshold—a boundary between inside and outside, the everyday and the extraordinary, what lies ahead and what remains behind.
No two doors are the same: materials, colors, the way they wear and accumulate marks. Simply standing before a door can evoke the passage of time and the presence of those who inhabit the space. The feel of the doorknob, peeling paint, stickers affixed, the position of the keyhole—each detail quietly records the number of times the door has been opened and closed, and the habits of those who live there.
Photograph a door head-on, or capture the light as it glances off at an angle. Don’t limit yourself to the door itself—try photographing the shadows cast in front of it, or the light spilling through its cracks. With that in mind, we are launching a #door hashtag campaign!
Share your creations with #door
Photographing a single door brings forth the notion of ‘what lies beyond’ in your image. Show us the doors you’ve encountered.
During the hashtag feature period from Thursday, June 4 to Wednesday, June 10, 2026, we will select several works posted with the #door tag and feature them in the cizucu Magazine. We look forward to your submissions.
