Introduction

'Landscape Treasures' is a global photo contest open to all creators. In cizucu's photo contest, outstanding works are curated from the entries to discover new talents as a platform and support the community.

This time, with the theme of 'Scenes of Treasures', participants submitted photos capturing street corners, the breath of nature, architectural masterpieces, the changing seasons, or everyday moments that are treasures to them. We invited official curators yanma222 and yasufumi to select the winning works.

Now, let's introduce the entries and announce the winning works.

'Tatsusawa Fudo Falls in Autumn'

📷 NIKON Z 6

Comment by yanma222
Breathtaking. That word came to mind the moment I saw this photo.

Tatsusawa Fudo Falls in Fukushima Prefecture can be enjoyed for its natural scenery throughout the seasons, with the fresh greenery being particularly famous. What caught my attention first was the maple leaves in the foreground. Capturing the waterfall with a slow shutter speed usually causes the maple leaves to blur due to wind or water flow, but this was likely taken during a moment of calm. It suggests that the photographer took multiple shots and was very persistent.

The maple leaves seem frozen in time, while the waterfall flows like a curtain over the rocks. This photo combines 'stillness' and 'motion', as if these two elements were packed into an autumn treasure box, making it a fascinating piece.

Moreover, the high level of skill in focusing from the foreground to the background and the use of a wide-angle lens to maximize this effect provided discoveries for the viewer.

Perhaps a polarizing filter was used to capture the clarity underwater. I was captivated by the high level of expressiveness, which led to the selection of this photo.

'Reflection of the Milky Way'

📷 SONY | ILCE-7RM4

Comment by yasufumi
The Milky Way and the landscape are beautifully combined. The stars are vividly captured through long exposure.
The gentle curves of the rice fields express a calm rhythm, and the reflected starry sky creates a fantastic atmosphere. I believe it successfully expresses the tranquility of the night and the grandeur of nature. The skillful capture of light in the darkness showcases excellent photographic technique.

In Conclusion

What did you think?
Even when we say 'Scenes of Treasures', they range from grand landscapes to everyday moments. This contest allowed us to realize how diverse and personal the things that shine to us are.
Once again, we express our gratitude to the two curators and all the creators who participated.

See you at the next contest!
