Mission

In Japan, photography often reveals the essence of the four seasons. Especially through images of nature, one can distinctly capture the unique characteristics of each time of year. Our experiences have long intertwined nature and the seasons. Historically, the changing seasons have inspired a sense of impermanence and poetic beauty. When the bush warbler sings and cherry blossoms bloom, it is spring. When lush greenery deepens and towering cumulonimbus clouds appear, it is summer. When leaves turn color and rice stalks bow, it is autumn. When snow falls and you photograph the titmouse, it is winter. In this way, the subjects of our photography shift with each season. The theme for this open call is "Nature Across the Seasons." Please submit photographs that evoke a sense of the seasons through nature as you perceive them.
