Mission

When looking back through your camera roll, you may find that an image taken casually has become a cherished record over time. At the same time, you may remember photos or moments no longer in your possession, thinking, “I wish I had taken a photo then” or “I wish I hadn’t deleted it.” This edition’s theme is “Saved and Lost.” We are inviting submissions of these “saved” and “lost” moments through photographs and words. Beyond photographic technique or formal refinement, we value the small story behind each image: “Why have you kept this photograph?” or “Why did you wish you could have kept it?” A lengthy text is not necessary. In your own words, share the memories and feelings connected to your photograph. A casually taken image that has become meaningful with time. A photograph you are glad you kept rather than deleted. A record of someone, somewhere, or everyday life. An image whose meaning has changed over time. We look forward to your〈Saved〉submissions. Please also tell us about your〈Lost〉moments: something you wish you had photographed then; a photograph you deleted or lost; a person or place you can no longer photograph. The photograph you wish you had kept does not need to remain in your possession. You may also submit an image of a present-day scene or object that brings back the memory of such a photograph or moment. Is there an image that has acquired meaning precisely because of where you are now?
