Mission
The gentle light of morning, dappled sunlight through the trees, and the rays that stream in at dusk— Light found in nature transforms with time and place, offering entirely different impressions of the same landscape. Whether it is a brilliant beam or a subtle, embracing glow, each instance of light is a unique phenomenon, never to be encountered in quite the same way again. Light does more than illuminate the subject; it seems to capture the atmosphere, temperature, and even emotion of the moment. The theme for this Open Call is "Natural Light." Consider not only sunlight, but also reflections on water, the play of light on leaves, or the contrast of shadows—seek out the myriad ways in which nature creates light.
