This photo was taken outside one of the exits of Promenade MRT station, very close to Suntec City in Singapore. That day the sunlight was so strong that it gave the glass surface this crystal-like texture, while the leaves shimmered and trembled in the light. I was drawn to the scene and then suddenly realised the glass wall was like a mirror reflecting the trees and everything. Then, amazingly, this woman in a colourful dress walked past, so I pressed my camera against the wall and captured this dreamy yet slightly unsettling moment in which she seemed to split into two selves inside the mirror. What fascinates me most about photography is how it can blur the line between the real and the surreal through things like shadow, reflection, and composition. Something I really enjoy playing with!
