The other Japanese toilet. I began photographing washiki toilets in 2019. Unlike standard sit-down toilets, squat toilets and their accompanying tiles can be vibrant, eclectic, and often unexpected. Image quality can suffer, though, due to low light and spontaneous capture, but I think it’s important to document them before they disappear.
