Shoten Kobo Co., Ltd. has released the latest firmware for the TTArtisan M-Z 6bit mount adapter by Mingjiang Optical. The firmware version is 1.02, announced on March 12, 2024. The retail price is ¥14,580 (tax included).
Innovative Mount Adapter Bridging Optical Worlds
The TTArtisan M-Z 6bit is a mount adapter designed to attach Leica M-mount lenses to Nikon Z-mount cameras. Its standout feature is the ability to automatically record the focal length information of 6bit-coded lenses into the image's Exif data, optimizing the in-body image stabilization of the camera. This significantly enhances image quality.
Enhanced Functionality and Flexibility for the Shooting Experience
Additionally, it is equipped with a trap focus function that greatly reduces the burden of shooting. This feature automatically triggers the shutter when the focus ring is operated, making it easier to capture fast-moving subjects or to shoot with pre-focused settings. The focus aid display allows photographers to visually confirm focus and make precise adjustments, enabling flexible responses to a variety of shooting scenarios.
Full Compatibility with Nikon Z 8 Firmware Ver.2.00
With the latest firmware update, the TTArtisan M-Z 6bit is now fully compatible with Nikon Z 8 firmware Ver.2.00.
The Nikon Z 8 firmware Ver.2.00 introduces a new 'Bird' mode for subject detection, as well as 'Pixel Shift Shooting' and three new 'Picture Control' modes. Manual focus functionality has also been enhanced, allowing users to exit magnified view with a half-press of the shutter button and to display distance information via the focus distance indicator.
