Kingston Technology has announced the launch of its portable SSD “XS1000” series, supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity. The official release is August 18, 2023, with prices set at ¥18,980 for 2TB and ¥10,980 for 1TB (tax included). To commemorate the launch, an Amazon.co.jp coupon sale is being held, offering a ¥2,500 discount coupon for the 2TB model and a ¥1,500 discount for the 1TB model. The campaign runs until September 4, 2023.
This ultra-lightweight model weighs just 28.7g and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. The portable SSD features high-speed access with read speeds up to 1,050MB/s and write speeds up to 1,000MB/s, making it easy to carry large volumes of data wherever you go.
The main difference from the company’s “XS2000” series is transfer speed. While the “XS2000” supports the higher-spec USB 3.2 Gen 2x2, the “XS1000” is compatible with USB 3.2 Gen 2. Additionally, the XS1000 does not include a protective sleeve for drop protection, which is provided with the XS2000.
