Leica Camera has announced the Leica M11 Monochrom, a rangefinder digital camera equipped with a sensor dedicated exclusively to monochrome photography. The camera will be available from April 22, 2023, through the Leica Online Store, Leica Boutiques, and authorized Leica dealers. The retail price is ¥1,386,000 (tax included).
Dedicated Monochrome Camera
The Leica M11 Monochrom is the fourth model in the series of M-System digital cameras designed exclusively for monochrome photography, following the original Leica M Monochrom released in 2012. It features Triple Resolution Technology, allowing users to select from 60MP, 36MP, or 18MP image resolutions, and is equipped with a backside-illuminated CMOS sensor dedicated to monochrome imaging. This technical innovation delivers monochrome photographs with exceptional resolution and clarity.
Minimalist Design Philosophy
The camera offers a perfectly balanced feel in hand—neither too heavy nor too light. The body is crafted entirely from metal, with an aluminum top cover and a sapphire glass LCD monitor, adhering to the highest standards of quality. The iconic red "Leica" logo has been omitted, and a dark finish is applied, resulting in a discreet, timeless aesthetic characteristic of the M-System. The design embodies a disciplined, minimalist philosophy.
Seamless Connectivity with Mobile Devices
The internal storage has been significantly expanded from 64GB in the Leica M11 to 256GB, and the camera offers effortless connectivity with the Leica FOTOS app, enabling a streamlined workflow with mobile devices.
