Sightron Japan Co., Ltd. announces the smart astronomical observation station 'Vespera II' by Vaonis, France. Release date: March 26, 2024. Direct sales price: 298,000 yen (including tax). Available for purchase on the company's direct sales website.

Entering an Era of Easy Astronomy

A tool has emerged that makes astrophotography easily accessible. Even without knowledge of astronomy or experience operating telescopes, 'Vespera II' can be controlled through a dedicated smartphone or tablet app. All image processing, including focus adjustment, image stacking, and noise reduction, is performed automatically. Thanks to its unique image processing technology, celestial objects can be clearly captured even in urban areas with strong light pollution.

Wide-Range, High-Resolution Observation with Live Mosaic Mode and High-Performance Sensor

The imaging sensor uses a Sony IMX585 sensor (back-illuminated, color) with approximately 8.3 million pixels and a 1/1.2-inch size. By utilizing the live mosaic mode, it is possible to observe and capture with a wide field of view, various compositions, and up to 24 megapixels in high resolution.

By utilizing the 'Live Mosaic Mode', celestial objects with expansive features, such as the Andromeda Galaxy, can be captured in a single frame. The smartphone and tablet app 'Singularity by Vaonis' includes a catalog of over 4,300 celestial objects, allowing for automatic introduction, tracking, and observation based on recommended or selected celestial objects.

The celestial objects include deep-sky objects (DSOs) such as galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters, as well as the sun and moon. The provided image data formats include JPEG, FITS, and TIFF, enabling more specialized image processing.
