photo poster project | Connect Through Photos with Strangers by Kamen | ISSUE #103

The , organized by cizucu since the end of last year, allows participants to join a photo poster exhibition simply by submitting their photos to cizucu. It’s a chance to meet new photographer friends you’ve never encountered before.
This time, we spoke with Kamen, a creator who participated in the .

Please introduce yourself!
As a hobby, I capture moments of wild birds and creatures I encounter in nature. Rather than artificial beauty, I aim to document the raw expressions of life.
What inspired you to participate?
I came across an Instagram ad, and I became curious about how my photos would look when printed in A2 size, rather than just being displayed on a smartphone or PC monitor. That curiosity led me to participate.

After my first participation, I joined two more group photo exhibitions in different locations over three months, and this was my second time participating in the .
Have you experienced any changes after participating multiple times?
My main focus is nature photography, and most of my peers are in the same genre. However, through the , I’ve had the opportunity to discuss cameras and photography with people from various genres, such as snapshots and landscapes, which has been a lot of fun.
What do you find appealing about the photo poster project?
The unique charm of this project is the ability to connect with people you’ve never met before and engage in conversations using “photography” as a common language, transcending genre differences. This is something you don’t often find in other events or photo exhibitions.

A message for those considering participating in the photo poster project
It’s a waste to keep your photos confined to social media.
By printing them on paper and “seeing and being seen,” you may discover something you hadn’t noticed before. Furthermore, by verbalizing your thoughts about your photos, you might experience new changes in your future photography.
