Oriental-Hobbies Co., Ltd. has announced an aluminum hood with integrated protective filter and a thumb grip, both designed exclusively for the premium compact digital cameras RICOH GR III and RICOH GR IIIx. The release date is March 8, 2024. Pricing: Aluminum hood with integrated protective filter for GR III or GR IIIx is 15,400 JPY (tax included). Thumb grip is 8,250 JPY (tax included).
Swedish-Designed Camera Accessories Arrive
Both products have been overseen by Stockholm-based photographer Thomas Mansell. These camera accessories are planned by Swedish company Squarehood and imported for the Japanese market.

The main feature is an aluminum hood with a built-in protector to safeguard the camera and prevent dust intrusion. Two versions are available, each tailored for the GR III and GR IIIx respectively.
The hood attaches via a bayonet mount for easy installation. However, as it may loosen easily, reinforcement with masking tape is recommended. A hood cap is also included.
