Stories of creators who love photography and their cameras. The concept of a “beloved camera” reflects each individual’s worldview and values. In this feature, we introduce HANA-STUDIO, a devoted user of the FUJIFILM X-E4.

Without turning everyday life into a special event, yet quietly preserving it—this delicate shooting style is supported by the FUJIFILM X-E4. As a “partner” for documenting life as an extension of living, rather than focusing on the act of shooting, how does HANA-STUDIO approach their camera? We delve into the quiet passion behind their choice.

FUJIFILM X-E4 Basic Information

The FUJIFILM X-E4 is a compact mirrorless camera equipped with an APS-C-sized X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor (approximately 26.1 megapixels) and a high-speed image processing engine, the X-Processor 4. Its flat body design exudes a classic aesthetic while maintaining a lightweight, slim build ideal for everyday use. Weighing approximately 364g, it’s a size that fits comfortably in your bag without being a burden.

A Camera to Keep Recording

For me, the FUJIFILM X-E4 feels less like a “camera for shooting” and more like a “partner to ensure the continuity of recording.”

There are larger, more advanced cameras in terms of performance. But my reason for choosing the X-E4 is simple: it’s about being able to carry it effortlessly and not overthinking the act of using it.

Overthinking the camera can make it difficult to naturally document the moment. The X-E4 supports you just before that point, naturally encouraging you to capture without overthinking.

A Shutter That Blends Into Life

The X-E4’s controls are extremely simple. The physical dials and minimal button layout prevent the photographer’s attention from being overly focused on the camera.

This allows you to concentrate on the subject, changes in light, and the atmosphere. Pressing the shutter becomes less of a ritual and more of a natural part of life.

FUJIFILM’s signature color reproduction also adds a gentle touch to the feel of the records. For someone like me, who prioritizes preserving memories in a way that feels true to the moment rather than just “beautifully capturing” them, this color reproduction is a crucial feature.

Not Just for Special Days

With the X-E4, I capture everyday moments—family life, light streaming into a room, or fleeting expressions and movements.

These aren’t special events, nor do I stage anything for the sake of shooting. I simply record the passing days quietly. The rhythm continues effortlessly because the X-E4 is a companion that doesn’t demand too much attention.

Photography as a Record for the Future

To me, photography is a record to pass on to the future. That’s why I value “effortless shooting” above all.

The X-E4 subtly supports this act of recording. It’s light, unpretentious, and yet it preserves moments with certainty. This balance makes daily photography feel natural.

Memories may fade over time, but the light, colors, and warmth of the air in that moment remain alive in photographs. With the X-E4, I hope to continue quietly accumulating such moments.
