Positioned as the new flagship of the E-series, it is designed to deliver high-resolution imaging and exceptional mobility when paired with the X2D II 100C, which was released on the same day. Covering a focal range of 28–76mm in 35mm equivalent, it supports a wide variety of shooting scenarios.

With a 13-group 16-element structure (including 3 aspherical and 5 ED elements), the optical design ensures sharp detail even with 100-megapixel sensors. It offers optical performance worthy of the E-series name, enabling flexible shooting from wide-angle to medium telephoto.
Mobility Supported by Drive System and Shutter Structure
The fastest stepping motor in the XCD series enables quick and quiet autofocus. Additionally, the built-in leaf shutter supports flash synchronization up to 1/4,000 seconds, making it ideal for shooting in bright environments with strobes.
