Featuring a 9-group, 11-element lens construction (including 2 aspherical lenses, 1 ED lens, and 2 high-refractive lenses), it achieves outstanding sharpness and contrast across the entire image. It allows maintaining shutter speed in low-light conditions and highlights subjects with beautiful bokeh effects.
The newly developed STM controls heavy lens groups quietly and accurately. Face detection and eye AF ensure sharp portrait expressions. It features both manual and automatic aperture control, with an AF/MF switch. The high-quality metal barrel and firmware update support are also notable features.
