Turned back to the memories
Reminiscing sometimes brings smiles, tears, and complex emotions. These are proof of how much we have grown and changed. The past never changes—what changes is always who we are now. I once thought to gather all those scattered memories into an album, promising myself to look back someday. In doing so, I spend today differently from yesterday and move forward.
Suddenly, I recall a poem by Kotaro Takamura: “There is no road ahead of me. A road is made behind me.”
The path to the future may well be found within our memories.

Looking at a vacant lot, I recall after-school memories. There’s no going back now.
Sometimes, when passing through an empty lot or a deserted park, I hear the innocent laughter of children. Is it reality, or just an illusion? Or is it simply those memories resurfacing? I can’t say for sure.
