The First Palm-Sized Camera in the Series Dedicated to Shooting: “INSTAX Pal” | FUJIFILM

FUJIFILM Corporation has announced the “INSTAX Pal” as a new addition to its highly popular INSTAX series. The release is scheduled for October 15, 2023. The price is approximately 17,000 yen (tax included) for Gem Black, and around 14,300 yen (tax included) for other colors. In addition, a silicone case with a carabiner matching the body color of the newly announced “INSTAX Pal,” as well as the purple mini format film “SOFT LAVENDER,” are also set to be released simultaneously.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year since its launch in 1998, the instant photo system INSTAX—affectionately known as “Cheki”—introduces the “INSTAX Pal,” the first camera in the series dedicated solely to shooting. By separating the printing function, it achieves a palm-sized compactness and enhanced portability.

Equipped with a lens offering an angle of view equivalent to 16.25mm in 35mm format, the camera features a shutter button on the rear of the body. By connecting to a dedicated app via Bluetooth, users can enjoy “remote shooting” while checking the smartphone screen, and also print with compatible devices such as the “INSTAX Link” smartphone printer series. This expands the world of INSTAX, the instant photo system that lets you enjoy prints immediately after shooting.

By connecting the camera body and smartphone via Bluetooth, captured images are automatically transferred to the dedicated app. Images can also be saved with an “INSTAX frame.” In addition to features unique to the app, such as “remote shooting” and “interval shooting,” sharing to social media is seamless.

Several unique new features are also included, such as the ability to pre-register your favorite sounds via the app to set as the camera’s shutter sound, and “INSTAX Animation,” which compiles multiple images into a single video.

The included “versatile ring accessory” serves not only as a strap to prevent drops, but can also be used as a simple viewfinder or as a camera stand for group photos.
