photo poster project is a photo poster exhibition organized by cizucu in cities around the world. To take part, all you need to do is choose a city and date.
The project we call ppp is more than just an exhibition. It is a community where everyone can feel comfortable sharing their story, and a chance to connect with creators from around the world in person.
This time, we spoke with Haru about taking part in photo poster project.
I'm Haru. I shoot portraits for work, and in my own time I photograph all kinds of things from everyday life, including flowers and buildings.
Taking photos gives me time to reset. When life gets hectic, quietly looking through the viewfinder helps me feel calm again.
I liked the idea of connecting with other people who love photography, and the fact that I could join even though I had never exhibited before. The printing is taken care of for you, so it is an easy way to take that first step toward showing your photos.
Taking part also helped me connect with other photographers on social media, so now I have more people to talk with about photography.
I'm quite shy, so I was incredibly nervous the first time. But when I got to the venue, the atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed.
The second time I took part, I already knew some of the staff and exhibitors, which made me feel much more at ease. Everyone genuinely enjoys being involved, and I think that is what creates such a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
I like being able to speak directly with the person who took the photo. When you ask them about the photo on display, you sometimes start to see it a little differently. I find that really interesting.
I've gone out to take photos with people I met through ppp, and if they are taking part in another photography exhibition, I'll go and see it. I feel like I've made so many more connections.
Another thing that makes ppp special is that those connections tend to continue even after the exhibition ends.
Even if you have never exhibited before, all you need to do is submit your photo file and wait for the day of the exhibition. You can also help with the setup, so I think it is a perfect first exhibition!
You can connect on social media with exhibitors and visitors alike, and meet more people who share your love of photography. If you want to take your first step toward exhibiting, I really recommend giving it a try.
