“Caught My Eye” is a global online photography contest hosted by cizucu and open to all creators registered on cizucu. We curate outstanding entries to discover new talent and support photographers as a community.
This theme is〈What Caught Your Eye〉.
While walking through a city, you may come across a scene that makes you pause.
The light filtering through, someone’s gesture, an unexpected color or shape. These are moments when your gaze is drawn in, even if you cannot quite explain why.
Taking a photograph can mean not overlooking something that caught your attention, but preserving it as your own way of seeing. It does not need to be a remarkable event. A subtle sense of unease along a familiar route, or beauty discovered in the midst of everyday life, can reveal your unique sensibility.
What has captivated you at first glance and stayed with you?
We invite you to submit an image that captures that moment.

Are you looking at me?

You look at the subject, only to feel as if it is looking right back at you. The question “Are you looking at me?” suddenly reverses the roles of viewer and subject. The photo captures the surprise and intimacy of that brief moment when your eyes meet.

The photographer’s shadow stretches across the ripened rice plants. Seen only as a silhouette, they seem to blend into the field. The photo preserves not just the scene that caught their eye, but also a quiet trace of their own presence—almost like a self-portrait.

A figure and city lights seen through glass at night
📷 Leica Q2

A figure and the city lights overlap in the glass at night, blurring the lines between inside and outside, reality and reflection. Multiple times and places seem to come together in a single window, creating a small story by chance. The photo carefully preserves a fleeting moment through layers of light.

"Art Wall" at Skatepark in LIECHTENSTEIN.
cizucu editorial team
A wall covered in vivid graffiti stands between green fields and heavy clouds. The contrast between its man-made colors and lines and the quiet natural landscape creates a scene found only in this place. The unexpected sight of these very different elements coming together is hard to look away from.

The fence in the foreground divides the view into vertical sections, guiding the eye through the gaps toward the surfer and white board. The light on the sand, the figure’s dark shadow, and the white board come together to make the moment just before the surfer heads into the sea stand out. Through the framing, an ordinary moment on the move feels like the beginning of a story.
