Threads, a text-centric social media platform by Meta, is a space where countless forms of expression are posted daily from across the globe.
‘find new pieces’ is a discovery project that seeks out exceptional works from the multitude of submissions on Threads, delivering their unique appeal through our magazine. Each edition sets a theme and gathers works from around the world that resonate with it, introducing new pieces—talents yet to be discovered.
This time, we present 12 works selected from a wealth of submissions worldwide.
Let’s explore these remarkable artworks, each brimming with distinct perspectives and sensibilities.
‘no reason, just like’
No reason needed. You’re simply drawn to it.
It’s a feeling that slips away when you try to put it into words.
Yet, there are nameless moments when you can say, without doubt, “I like this.”
Sometimes, photography captures an impulse that exists before any reason.
It’s not about being “beautiful” or “impressive,” but for some reason, you can’t look away.
You may not know why, but you know you love it.
We invite you to share a photograph that embodies that feeling.

In a dimly lit room, only the light streaming in from the window remains, and the silhouette seated at that boundary is strikingly evocative. What are they doing? How do they feel? Though it defies explanation, the viewer’s imagination naturally springs to life. The texture of the floor and the expanse of negative space also play a role, as if the photograph encapsulates the subtle tremor that precedes words for why we “like” something.

The green of the grass is utterly ordinary, yet the moment shadows fall across it, the scene is transformed into something atmospheric. Without fully explaining what’s depicted, the image invites us to imagine the time of day, the temperature, and the presence of others. The understated composition encourages the viewer to pause and become absorbed in the scene.

A seemingly ordinary street corner becomes dramatically transformed by a single shaft of light. The deep blacks and the textures of signs and walls emerging from the darkness subtly guide the viewer’s gaze. By intentionally not revealing too much, the composition leaves a cinematic aftertaste. Before searching for reasons, you simply feel that it’s cool—a work that captivates instantly.

The reflection through the window glass and the small vase inside the shop—just these two layers overlapping make an ordinary scene appear dreamlike. While the tulip is the main subject, the presence of the bicycle and the street outside blend into the frame, leading the eye on a gentle detour. The soft handling of light leaves a tactile sense, as if gently retrieving a fragment of memory. It’s a work that draws you in, even though you can’t fully explain why—a perfect embodiment of “just like.”

Beneath a bold “NO PARKING” sign, a figure quietly plays music. This juxtaposition alone creates an inexplicable pull. The low-angle perspective captures not only the bustle of the city and the lines of overhead wires but also the warmth of everyday life. The slightly faded color tones lend a sense of narrative to the reality. Before you can articulate a reason, you simply find yourself liking this work.

The silhouettes of trees in the foreground and the outline of a building rising in the distance create a pleasing sense of depth, evoking the rhythm of a stroll. By not overemphasizing a main subject, the presence of people and the shape of the city are given equal weight, resulting in a relaxed beauty. The clear sky adds to the sense that, while nothing extraordinary is happening, you simply “like this moment”—a work that gently unravels the heart.

The word “STOP” placed on an inorganic floor appears almost poetic thanks to the interplay of light and shadow. The simple forms, combined with diagonal shadows and negative space, create a pleasant tension within the frame. Though nothing is actually happening, the urge to “pause here” lingers in the viewer’s mind.

The sweeping curve of the ceiling lights on the platform draws the eye irresistibly, inviting repeated visual tracing. While the figure is blurred, the contours of the space are strikingly clear, capturing the tactile sense of “waiting time.” The overall soft tones make the real scene feel slightly dreamlike, as if it were a memory.

The composition, as if peering in from outside the frame, leaves the viewer with the sense of having “caught a glimpse.” While strong sunlight illuminates the entrance, the depth of the interior (or shadow) gently draws out the presence of the figure. Details like the earphone cord and the angle of the feet lend authenticity to the scene, conveying emotion without the need for explanation.

The blue of the lake, the ridgeline of the mountains, and the figure sitting by the shore all come together in a natural rhythm. The landscape is grand, yet what’s truly conveyed is the act of “gazing”—a quietness that speaks volumes. The shade in the foreground subtly frames the scene, guiding the eye smoothly to the water’s surface. Rather than a travelogue, this is a work that preserves a moment you want to cherish for no particular reason.

Within the doorway’s frame, a fleeting presence appears and seems about to vanish, tugging at the heart. The slightly unfocused image emphasizes “time” over contours. The plush toy in hand and the gesture of the outstretched arm seem to express emotions that words cannot. You can almost imagine the scent of home, even though it defies explanation. This subtle wavering before reason is something I truly love.

The sense of speed is so palpable that the contours blur, directly conveying the feeling of “joy” and drawing the viewer in at first glance. Rather than aiming for technical perfection, the work honestly captures the momentum of the moment, making it a perfect fit for this theme. The direction in which the figures move, hand in hand, and the flowing background are all unfinished, and that’s what makes it dazzling. Even if you can’t put it into words, you just want to say you love it.
