The photo poster project is an exhibition organized by cizucu and held in cities worldwide, where anyone can participate simply by choosing a city and date.
What we call the ppp is more than just a photography exhibition. It is a community where everyone can safely share their stories, and an opportunity to connect with creators from around the globe in real life.
This time, we spoke with the creator hirorin_go, who participated in the photo poster project.
Please introduce yourself!
I love traveling, and I spend my time with my camera as I journey across Japan and the world by motorcycle, car, or train. Whenever I come across a captivating landscape or delicious food, I can't help but eagerly press the shutter. Influenced by my family, I've been using Nikon cameras for a long time.
What inspired you to participate?
I first learned that there was a group exhibition nearby that I could join casually, and thought, "This sounds interesting." Around that time, I had participated in several other group exhibitions and wanted to experience different forms of exhibitions.
I was also excited by the prospect of seeing my photographs as large prints rather than just on the small screens of my smartphone or PC. The chance to experience genuine, in-person reactions—something you can't get online—was also very appealing, and that's what led me to participate.
Did you experience any changes after participating?
After participating several times, I gradually gained more confidence in my photographs, which had previously been buried online. Having people see my prints and share their thoughts made me realize, "My photos are truly reaching others."
Additionally, by directly hearing from people who photograph from various perspectives, I encountered new ideas and worlds that I hadn't known before. As a result, I now find myself naturally carrying my camera with me more often than before.
What do you find appealing about the photo poster project?
The greatest appeal, I believe, is that you can naturally approach both your own work and the work of other participants with genuine respect. Behind every photograph lies the creator's thoughts and creative process, and it's rare to have the opportunity to spend time discussing the story behind a single moment in depth.
I feel that this space, where such 'deep conversations' are born, is truly precious and something to be grateful for.
