One Time Only
'One Time Only' is a global online photo contest organized by cizucu, open to all creators registered on cizucu. Outstanding works will be curated from the submissions, aiming to discover new talent for the platform and foster support within the community.
This edition's theme is “Irreplaceable Moments”.
Moments that exist only in the present often arrive quietly in our daily lives.
A subtle shift in the angle of light, a strand of hair loosened by the wind, the pause before someone's laughter fades. Even though the same conditions will never align again, we sometimes overlook these moments as if they were ordinary.
It doesn't have to be a grand event. Capture the tactile sense of time that can never be repeated—those moments you feel can never happen again—gently with your photography.

The solitary figure walking across the grassland beneath an expansive sky. It's as if even the sound of the wind is captured, reminding us how quietly the present passes by. With the next step, the angle of light and the shape of shadows will change, and this same scene will never return. Yet, the act of moving forward without pause seems to embrace the irreplaceable moment, stirring a gentle warmth deep within. A work that beautifully encapsulates the fleeting nature of now.

'Rainy Day Reflection'

The interplay of light on wet pavement and the sudden appearance of a puddle—an 'alternate world.' The ripples created by raindrops shift with each new drop, and the same reflection will never appear again. The sense of distance, as if viewed through a window, quietly conveys the transience of time slipping by, untouchable. Rather than evoking the melancholy of a rainy day, this photograph captures the fleeting brilliance that exists only in the present.

The evening sky blurs, dissolving even the outlines of utility poles and the cityscape. The blur is not a flaw, but rather a trace of the unique pace and heartbeat of this very moment. The ever-changing colors of the magic hour mean that with just one traffic light or a turn of a corner, the world transforms. By intentionally embracing the ambiguity of an elusive instant, this photograph accentuates both the fragility and beauty of an 'irreplaceable moment.'

Graduation Ceremony
Three years of high school spent during the pandemic—a completely different experience from that of their parents' generation. Yet, on this day of departure, these young people, who embraced their youth to the fullest, all shone brightly.

The steel beams of the ceiling tower overhead, and rows of students stand in formation. The atmosphere in the hall is slightly tense, and you can almost feel the heartbeat in the seconds before their names are called. Even though they are all dressed in the same uniforms, each stands at the threshold of a different future. Looking back, there's no returning—this is truly a photograph that captures an 'irreplaceable moment.'

The vivid patterns on the wall and the people working intently beneath the scaffolding. The sunlight, the drape of the fabric, and even the atmosphere of the scene are all captured, making 'this moment' undeniably present. With each new brushstroke or knot, the scene gradually transforms, and once completed, this process can never be seen again. This photograph reminds us that it is the accumulation of such unremarkable acts that forms the tapestry of irreplaceable moments.
