This time, we spoke with archivchoi, a creator who took part in the photo poster project.
Please introduce yourself!
I majored in fine arts as a student and currently work as a web developer. Since childhood, I have been capturing 'joyful moments' of daily life using whatever equipment was at hand, from my father's video camera to mobile phones.
For over ten years, photography was a personal pursuit, but after leaving my previous job last year, I embarked on a 'journey for photography,' which led me to start using in earnest.
What inspired you to participate?
After starting and receiving increasing engagement from followers, I learned about cizucu’s through a friend’s recommendation. At first, it was simple curiosity, but once I applied, the excitement of 'meeting people who are also passionate about photography' kept growing.
I thought that encountering photographs filled with personal backgrounds and hearing the stories behind why people started photography would be a significant source of inspiration for me. I wanted to experience meeting people face-to-face, beyond the confines of the 'screen' of social media.
Did you experience any changes after participating?
The biggest change has been in my 'ability to take action.' When I was only interacting through , I tended to create based solely on my own assumptions, which sometimes left me feeling down.
However, by meeting followers in person through the exhibition and receiving unexpected encouragement, I realized 'what aspects of my work are truly appreciated.' That experience became a driving force, inspiring me to pursue new challenges such as creating postcards, New Year’s calendars, and wallpapers.
Alongside the desire to 'give something back,' I find myself creating with much more joy than before.
What do you find appealing about the photo poster project?
The sensation of receiving something tangible, as a physical print rather than just through a screen, is truly different. I believe the greatest appeal is being able to share emotions in person that are hard to sense online.
Moreover, here, it’s not about the equipment or technique—your 'personal narrative' takes center stage. Photographs filled with everyone’s perspectives and backgrounds come together in one space, creating an environment where we inspire one another. That’s the unique quality of the photo poster project.
