Please introduce yourself!

I live in Fukuoka Prefecture and mainly shoot landscapes and nightscapes, but I’m open to photographing anything. Photography is purely a hobby for me, but I decided to start taking it more seriously in November 2023, which is relatively recent.

To put it dramatically, I realized that even the most ordinary, overlooked, or fleeting scenes have their own stories, which made me rediscover the beauty of the world. If I can share the beauty of the world as I see it and even one person finds it captivating, it would bring me immense joy.

I’m truly glad I took the plunge and started this journey.

What inspired you to participate?

The opportunity came when a staff member from cizucu reached out to me. While I use social media as a platform to showcase my photography, the idea of turning my work into posters for an exhibition sounded intriguing.

I had never participated in a photography exhibition before, but what attracted me most was the emphasis on connecting with other creators who were also participating.

I also love viewing the works of other creators. Hearing about their unique approaches and photography styles firsthand is a rare and valuable experience, which became my primary motivation for participating.

How was your experience participating?

I had an incredibly fulfilling time. It was even more enjoyable than I had imagined, and the time from preparation to the end of the event flew by.

Not only did I get to see the amazing poster displays of everyone’s work, but I also had the chance to meet the creators behind them, hear their stories, and learn about their creative processes. It was both fascinating and educational. Having others view my work objectively and share their thoughts directly was a rare and valuable opportunity.

Above all, I love talking to people, so being part of such a perfectly tailored event for my interests was something I’m deeply grateful for.

Why did you choose that particular photo for the exhibition?

I chose a panoramic nightscape of central Kitakyushu City, viewed from the summit of Mount Komonji in Kokurakita Ward, Kitakyushu City.
While Mount Sarakura and Mount Takato in the same city are far more famous and accessible, Mount Komonji is the opposite.

Exhibited Work

It’s relatively unknown to anyone other than locals or hiking enthusiasts, and there are no paved roads, so even though the hike is short, it’s a genuine climb. Carrying camera equipment up the mountain is a challenge, to say the least (laughs).

However, the effort is worth it. The view that greets you at the summit rivals, if not surpasses, the other two locations. I wanted to share this breathtaking scene, especially during the fleeting magic hour right after sunset, with everyone, which is why I chose this piece.

For those considering joining the photo poster project

In my opinion, photography is a wonderful hobby that can be fully enjoyed solo.

However, there are times when you might wonder, "What do others think of my work?" or "I’d like to connect with other photographers." Many people feel this way but hesitate to take the first step or don’t have the opportunity.
The by cizucu is the perfect chance to fulfill those desires.

If you’re interested but hesitant, take the leap and give it a try.
A whole new world will open up for you.
I plan to invite friends and acquaintances who are interested and participate again.

Let’s take that step and enjoy it together!
