Why did you choose Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture?
Onomichi is a popular tourist destination and also the city where I took my first photo with my first film camera. Located about an hour's drive from Hiroshima City, it's an easy-to-reach destination that somehow always leaves me feeling recharged.
The blend of its tourist attractions and glimpses of the daily lives of its residents, along with the cinematic scenery created by the hills and the sea, gives Onomichi a mysterious allure. I hope to share a glimpse of Onomichi's charm with you.
1. The View of Onomichi Waterway from Senkoji Park
The Onomichi Waterway is bustling with boats, but the ferry connecting Onomichi and Mukaishima stands out. Before the Onomichi Bridge was built, this ferry was the only means of transportation between the island and the mainland.
Today, it serves as a daily mode of transport for locals, but for tourists, the three-minute ferry ride leaves a lasting impression.
