Please introduce yourself!

My name is takkou, and I’ve been seriously taking photos for about a year. I’m currently a second-year university student in Sapporo.
My goal is to reach 2,000 followers on Instagram by the time I graduate, and I’m working daily to beautifully express the things I want to capture.

I aim for my photos to bring a little brightness to those who see them, helping them look up even during tough times. I hope to create works that can offer such strength.

What made you decide to participate?

I became interested in the and decided to participate.

One of the reasons was that I felt it was a great opportunity to connect with other photographers in Sapporo. This was my first time participating in a photo exhibition, so I was very nervous.

How was the experience of participating?

I was involved from setup to takedown, and it was a lot of fun. I got to interact with many people regardless of age or gender, which became a great memory.

I was able to experience various genres of photographic expression firsthand, and I feel that I can incorporate these into my own work moving forward. Talking about photography and deepening conversations made for a very meaningful time.

At first, I hesitated to participate, but in the end, I’m really glad I did. I definitely want to participate again next time.

Why did you choose that particular photo?

It’s a photo I took at the Rose Garden in Sapporo Odori Park at the end of June.
Among the densely blooming, vividly colored flowers, this white rose stood alone, radiating elegance. I captured that moment.

When I saw this white rose, I felt the beauty of individuality in a world where we’re increasingly expected to conform to various rules and ways of thinking. That’s why I decided this was the one photo to showcase.

A message for those considering joining the photo poster project

You might feel anxious at first, but it’s a wonderful exhibition.

In this era where viewing photos on smartphones is becoming the norm, taking the time to appreciate large printed works is a unique experience that only the can offer.

You won’t regret it. If you’re unsure, I encourage you to give it a try!
